Papergirl SF is an annual mail-art and delivery systems art project that collects artwork from all over the world and, in the style of American paperboys, distributes the art freely by bicycle to people in the streets of San Francisco. Sound awesome? We think so, too.
Incline Gallery Sneak Peek!
It’s been a while since we’ve posted, but after securing a totally awesome gallery and settling on our final dates for the Papergirl SF exhibition, we want to give you a sneak peek of the space! Read more below for the full details.

Located at 766 Valencia in San Francisco’s Mission district, Incline Gallery is the result of a unique collaborative relationship between San Francisco’s Paxton Gate and the San Pancho Art Collective. Please join us in thanking Brian Perrin and Christo Oropeza from Incline for offering to host the 2011 Papergirl SF show Oct. 15-22nd, we couldn’t be more excited to be working with them!
The Incline Gallery is far from your ordinary showing space. As its name suggests, it’s made up of three long, narrow ramps winding their way up to the 2nd floor of 766 Valencia, creating an unusual and spacious gallery. Originally an entrance/exit for the mortuary that used to occupy the building, the sloping switchbacks were no doubt used to wheel gurneys and trash between the floors. Creepy you say? Well, to top it all off, the small tiled “office” at the top where Incline makes it’s headquarters used to be the embalming room for said adjacent mortuary. Awesome.

The space has been magically transformed though, and can we just say how stoked we are at how much open wall space there is! It’s simply perfect for a giant salon style show, we couldn’t be more happy with how things have worked out. Keep sending us your amazing artwork so we can cover the gallery walls with it! As we draw closer to the event, we’ll be looking for volunteers to help us put up and tear down the show, so shoot us an e-mail if you’re interested!
